Hello! My name is Emma (she/her) and I'm an incoming (Fall 2025) Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. I am an applied environmental planning scholar, researching and teaching at the intersection of urban governance, climate change, and environmental justice. My work seeks to expand our understanding of climate change-exacerbated social and environmental disparities, and to identify solutions. My dissertation research analyzes the potential of community-driven urban climate governance to advance more just worlds, through a case study of California's Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program.
